The Foundation Safety & Rescue Training has been replaced by the Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course, which equips paddlers with essential safety and rescue skills for operating in sheltered water environments.
The PSRC focuses on teaching participants how to perform rescues from their specific craft, covering essential skills such as:
Contact and Towing Rescues: Techniques for assisting others in distress.
Self-Rescues: Skills to help oneself in case of capsizing or other emergencies.
Deep Water Rescues: Strategies for rescuing individuals in deeper water situations.
The course is suitable for all ages and is particularly beneficial for:
Aspiring paddlesport instructors.
Scouts and leaders who want to participate in paddling activities.
Individuals looking to enhance their safety practices while paddling.
This is a one-day course costing £40
Participants should be confident swimmers and should old certain paddling awards, such as the Paddle Explore Award, 2 Star Award or equivalent experience.
This course will run on the following dates

Any member of TSA can apply for a grant to cover 33% of their cost, provided it leads to a permit.
Leaders outside LSC they can apply for a further 33% from their districts and 33% from their groups.
